Moderate1 to 2 h10 steps

Is your Samsung Galaxy A07 struggling to charge, losing connection when bumped, or completely dead? A faulty USB-C charging port is a common issue that can easily be fixed at home with the right tools. This guide will walk you through replacing the charging port sub-board to get your device powering up reliably again. Expect to work with small screws and adhesive, so patience is key.

  1. 1

Power Off and Remove SIM Tray

    • Turn off your Samsung Galaxy A07 completely before starting any repairs.
    • Use a SIM ejector tool to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device.
    • This prevents damage to the motherboard during disassembly.
  2. 2

    Heat the Back Cover

    • Apply heat to the edges of the plastic back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for about two minutes.
    • Keep the heat source moving to avoid melting the plastic or damaging the internal battery.
    • This softens the adhesive holding the panel in place.
  3. 3

    Pry Open the Back Cover

    • Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover and pull up gently to create a small gap.
    • Insert a plastic guitar pick into the gap and slide it around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.
    • Once all edges are free, carefully lift the back cover away from the phone.
  4. 4

    Remove the Mid-Frame Screws

    • Locate and remove all the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic mid-frame and loudspeaker assembly.
    • Keep your screws organized on a magnetic mat so you know exactly where they go during reassembly.
  5. 5

    Disconnect the Battery

    • Gently pry off the motherboard shield to expose the battery connector.
    • Use a plastic spudger to lift the battery flex cable straight up from its socket.
    • Disconnecting the battery immediately eliminates the risk of short-circuiting components while you work.
  6. 6

    Remove the Loudspeaker Assembly

    • Pry up the bottom loudspeaker module which sits directly over the charging port board.
    • Lift it out of the chassis and set it aside.
    • This exposes the USB-C charging sub-board and its connected cables.
  7. 7

    Disconnect the Sub-Board Cables

    • Use your plastic spudger to disconnect the main flex cable that links the charging board to the motherboard.
    • Next, use tweezers to carefully snap off the coaxial antenna cable from its socket on the charging board.
  8. 8

    Extract the Old Charging Board

    • Remove any single Phillips screw holding the charging port board in place.
    • Insert a spudger underneath the board and gently pry it up from the bottom of the phone.
    • If it feels stuck, apply a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol to loosen the mild adhesive underneath.
  9. 9

    Install the New Charging Port

    • Align your replacement Samsung Galaxy A07 charging port board into the bottom housing.
    • Press it down gently so the microphone and USB-C port sit flush against the frame cutouts.
    • Secure it with the mounting screw.
  10. 10

    Reconnect Cables and Reassemble

    • Snap the coaxial antenna cable and the main flex cable back onto the new charging board.
    • Reinstall the loudspeaker assembly, reconnect the battery, and screw the mid-frame back into place.
    • Finally, apply new adhesive or B7000 glue to the edges of the phone and press the back cover firmly to seal it.

FAQ

Why is my phone still not charging after replacing the port?

Double-check that the main flex cable connecting the sub-board to the motherboard is securely snapped in on both ends. If the connection is solid, the issue might be a faulty battery or a damaged charging IC on the main motherboard.

Do I need to buy a specific charging port for the 4G vs 5G model?

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy A07 comes in both 4G and 5G variants. Their internal layouts differ slightly, so you must purchase the exact charging port board that matches your specific model number.

Can I use super glue to reattach the back cover?

No, you should never use super glue on electronics because it dries rigid and makes future repairs impossible. Always use specialized electronics adhesive like B7000 or custom-cut double-sided tape.

Will this repair fix my broken microphone?

Yes, the primary microphone is located on the charging port sub-board. Replacing the entire board will give you a brand new microphone as well as a new USB-C port.
