Samsung Galaxy A07 Screen Replacement

Moderate1 to 2 hours11 steps

A cracked or unresponsive display on your Samsung Galaxy A07 can make the device completely unusable. Replacing the screen is necessary if you experience dead pixels, severe glass shattering, or touch failure. This repair involves removing the plastic back panel and transferring internal components to a new screen assembly. Take your time and handle the battery with extreme care to ensure a safe and successful fix.

  1. 1

    Power Off the Device

    • Begin by completely turning off your Samsung Galaxy A07.
    • Remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone to prevent it from snagging during disassembly.
  2. 2

    Heat the Back Cover

    • Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply gentle heat around the edges of the back cover.
    • This softens the adhesive holding the plastic panel in place.
    • Keep the heat source moving to avoid melting the plastic.
  3. 3

    Remove the Back Cover

    • Place a suction cup near the bottom edge and pull up slightly to create a small gap.
    • Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.
    • Carefully lift the back cover away once all the adhesive is cut.
  4. 4

    Unscrew the Midframe

    • Locate and remove all the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic midframe and motherboard cover.
    • Keep these screws organized on a magnetic mat so you can put them back in their exact spots later.
  5. 5

    Detach the Midframe

    • Gently pry the plastic midframe away from the main chassis using a spudger.
    • Be extra careful around the side-mounted fingerprint sensor to avoid tearing its delicate ribbon cable.
  6. 6

    Disconnect the Battery

    • Immediately disconnect the battery flex cable from the motherboard using a plastic spudger.
    • This crucial safety step prevents short circuits while you work on the rest of the internal components.
  7. 7

    Disconnect the Display Cable

    • Locate the main display flex cable connecting the screen to the motherboard.
    • Use your plastic spudger to gently pop the connector straight up from its socket.
  8. 8

    Remove the Battery

    • Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery to weaken the underlying adhesive.
    • Wait a minute for the alcohol to work, then gently pry the battery out using a flat plastic tool.
    • Never puncture or bend the battery, as this can cause a dangerous fire.
  9. 9

    Prepare the New Screen Assembly

    • If your replacement screen comes with a pre-installed frame, transfer the motherboard, charging port board, and cameras from the old frame to the new one.
    • If you only bought the bare LCD panel, you will need to heat and pry the old screen off the front of the original frame and glue the new one in place.
  10. 10

    Reassemble and Test

    • Place the battery into the new housing and reconnect the display cable, followed by the battery cable.
    • Temporarily snap the midframe into place and power on the phone to test the new screen for touch responsiveness and dead pixels.
  11. 11

    Final Assembly

    • Once you confirm the screen works perfectly, power the phone back down and secure the midframe with all the Phillips screws.
    • Apply fresh adhesive to the back cover, press it firmly onto the phone, and reinstall your SIM card tray.

FAQ

Will this repair delete my data?

No, replacing the screen does not affect the internal storage or software of your phone. However, it is always a good idea to back up your data before starting any hardware repair.

Do I need to buy a screen with a frame or without?

We highly recommend purchasing a replacement screen that includes a pre-installed frame. It makes the repair significantly easier because you do not have to deal with messy liquid adhesives to glue a bare LCD panel to your old frame.

What should I do if the new screen does not turn on?

First, double-check the display cable connection to ensure it is seated properly on the motherboard. You should also verify that the battery is fully connected and has enough charge to power the device.

Is the Galaxy A07 still water resistant after this repair?

The Galaxy A07 has an IP54 rating for basic splash resistance, but opening the device compromises the factory seals. You must apply high-quality replacement adhesive to the back cover to restore as much protection as possible, though it is best to keep the phone away from moisture afterward.
