Repair Guides

Moderate1–2 h9 steps

If your device suffers from rapid draining, unexpected shutdowns, or a swollen back panel, it is time for a new battery. This guide will walk you through safely opening the glass back and replacing the degraded cell. Expect to work with strong adhesive and delicate flex cables, so patience is key.

  1. 1

    Power Off and Prep

    • Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S25 completely before beginning the repair.
    • Eject the SIM card tray to prevent any snags during the disassembly process.
  2. 2

    Heat the Back Glass

    • Apply even heat to the perimeter of the back cover using a heat gun or mat.
    • Keep the temperature around 80°C for a few minutes to soften the water-resistant adhesive.
  3. 3

    Slice the Adhesive

    • Place a suction cup near the bottom edge and pull up slightly to create a small gap.
    • Insert a plastic opening pick and carefully slide it around the edges to cut the adhesive.
  4. 4

    Remove the Back Cover

    • Once all the adhesive is cut, gently lift the back glass away from the frame.
    • Set it aside in a safe place to avoid scratching or breaking the panel.
  5. 5

    Unscrew the Internal Shielding

    • Locate and remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the wireless charging coil and upper bracket.
    • Keep your screws organized on a magnetic mat so you know exactly where they go later.
  6. 6

    Disconnect the Wireless Charger

    • Use a nylon spudger to unclip the plastic bracket holding the wireless charging pad.
    • Carefully peel the coil assembly back to expose the motherboard connections.
  7. 7

    Disconnect the Battery

    • Immediately pry up the battery connector from the motherboard using your plastic spudger.
    • This crucial step removes power from the board and prevents accidental short circuits.
  8. 8

    Remove the Old Battery

    • Locate the battery adhesive pull tabs and pull them straight up to release the cell.
    • If the tabs break, apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol under the battery to dissolve the remaining adhesive before prying it out.
  9. 9

    Install the New Battery

    • Place the new adhesive strips into the battery compartment and firmly seat the replacement battery.
    • Reconnect the battery flex cable to the motherboard and reassemble the device in reverse order.

FAQ

Will this repair compromise the water resistance of my phone?

Yes, opening the device breaks the factory seal. You must apply a new precut adhesive gasket during reassembly to restore basic water resistance.

Why do I need to discharge the battery before starting?

A fully charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire if accidentally punctured. Discharging it below 25 percent significantly reduces the risk of thermal runaway.

What should I do if the battery pull tabs snap?

Do not pry with metal tools. Instead, use high-concentration isopropyl alcohol to soften the glue and gently lift the battery with a plastic spudger.

Do I need to calibrate the new battery?

It is highly recommended to calibrate the new cell for accurate percentage readings. Charge it to 100 percent, keep it plugged in for two more hours, use the phone until it shuts off, and then charge it uninterrupted back to 100 percent.
