Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Housing Replacement

Difficult1.5 to 2 hours10 steps

A bent or heavily damaged frame can compromise the structural integrity of your Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, leading to display issues or water damage. Replacing the housing involves transferring all internal components into a new midframe, making it a thorough but rewarding repair. Expect to handle delicate flex cables and use controlled heat to safely migrate parts like the battery and front camera.

  1. 1

    Remove the back cover

    • Apply heat to the edges of the back panel to soften the adhesive.
    • Use a suction cup to lift the glass slightly and insert a plastic pick to slice through the glue.
    • Carefully remove the back cover and set it aside.
  2. 2

    Unscrew the protective brackets

    • Remove the Phillips screws securing the metal bracket and NFC coil assembly.
    • Gently pry up the bracket with a plastic spudger to expose the motherboard connections.
  3. 3

    Disconnect the battery

    • Safety must come first when working inside a smartphone.
    • Use a nylon spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its socket to cut off power to the device.
  4. 4

    Remove the speaker and sub-board

    • Unscrew the bottom loudspeaker assembly and lift it out of the frame.
    • Disconnect the main interconnect flex cables, then carefully extract the lower sub-board containing the charging port.
  5. 5

Extract the mainboard and rear cameras

    • Disconnect the display cable and any remaining connectors from the motherboard.
    • Carefully lift the mainboard out of the frame along with the rear camera modules.
    • Avoid touching the glass camera lenses during this process.
  6. 6

    Transfer the front camera

    • The front camera on the S25 FE is glued securely to the frame and requires extra care.
    • Apply controlled heat to the camera area to soften the adhesive, then use tweezers to gently pry it loose without damaging the delicate sensor.
  7. 7

    Extract the battery

    • Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to dissolve the underlying adhesive.
    • Wait a minute for the alcohol to work, then use the built-in pull tabs to safely lift the battery out.
  8. 8

    Move the peripheral components

    • Carefully extract the vibration motor, earpiece speaker, and side button flex cables from the old frame.
    • Transfer them into the exact same positions in your new replacement housing.
  9. 9

    Reassemble the internal parts

    • Install the battery, motherboard, sub-board, and all cameras into the new housing.
    • Reconnect all flex cables securely and screw down the speaker assembly and protective brackets.
  10. 10

    Seal the smartphone

    • Clean any leftover adhesive residue from your back cover and apply a new pre-cut adhesive gasket.
    • Press the back cover firmly onto the new housing to ensure a tight seal.

FAQ

Will this repair restore water resistance?

Using a new pre-cut adhesive gasket helps, but DIY repairs rarely guarantee factory-level IP68 water resistance. Keep the phone away from moisture after the repair just to be safe.

Do I need to buy a housing with a screen pre-installed?

Buying a housing with a pre-installed screen is highly recommended for this model. It saves you from the incredibly risky process of separating the delicate OLED panel from the old frame.

Why is my front camera blurry after the transfer?

You may have accidentally touched the lens or trapped dust inside during the move. Always inspect and clean the lenses with a microfiber cloth before sealing the device.
