   • Leave picks in the corners to prevent the adhesive from resealing as you work your way around the device.

   Remove the back cover

   • Once all the adhesive is sliced, carefully lift the back cover away from the phone chassis.
   • Set the glass aside in a safe location where it will not be scratched or broken.
   • Clean any leftover adhesive residue from the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a plastic scraper.

   Remove the wireless charging coil

   • Unscrew the Phillips #00 screws securing the wireless charging coil and NFC antenna assembly.
   • Gently unclip the plastic bracket using a spudger and lift the coil away from the motherboard.
   • This exposes the battery connector and the upper portion of the main flex cables.

   Disconnect the battery

   • Always disconnect the battery first to prevent short circuits while working on the device.
   • Use a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard.
   • Bend the flex cable slightly out of the way so it does not accidentally make contact with the board.

   • Remove the Phillips #00 screws holding the bottom speaker assembly in place over the charging port.
   • Pry up the speaker module with a spudger and lift it out of the phone.

   • Use your spudger to disconnect the main display and interconnect flex cables attached to the charging board.
   • Carefully detach the cellular antenna cables using precision tweezers.
   • Grip the metal connectors rather than the wires to avoid tearing the delicate antenna lines.

   Extract the old charging board

   • Remove the final screws securing the charging port sub-board to the aluminum frame.
   • Insert a spudger under the edge of the board and gently pry it upward to release it from any mild adhesive.
   • Pull the board out of the device and verify that the USB-C port area is clear of debris.

    Install the new charging board

    • Align your replacement charging port sub-board into the bottom of the frame and press it into place.
    • Secure it with the designated Phillips screws.
    • Reconnect the antenna cables and snap the main interconnect flex cables back onto their respective sockets.

    Reassemble the device

    • Reinstall the bottom speaker assembly and secure it with its screws.
    • Reconnect the battery cable, then place the wireless charging coil back into position and screw it down.
    • Turn on the phone to test the new charging port before sealing the device.

    Seal the back cover

    • Apply new custom-cut adhesive strips to the perimeter of the phone frame.
    • Press the back glass firmly into place and apply steady pressure around the edges for several minutes.
