Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Battery Replacement

Moderate45–60 min11 steps

Over time, your Samsung Galaxy S26 FE may exhibit rapid capacity loss, unexpected shutdowns under high processing loads, or rear panel separation caused by a swollen cell. Replacing the internal 4,900 mAh battery restores all-day operating life and eliminates the thermal risks associated with degraded lithium-ion hardware. This repair requires controlled heat to release the rear panel adhesive and methodical disassembly of the internal protective shielding.

Required Tools

  • Heat gun or heating pad
  • Suction handle
  • Plastic opening picks
  • Nylon spudger
  • Phillips #00 precision screwdriver
  • ESD-safe tweezers
  • Isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher, for stubborn adhesive)
  • Replacement pre-cut rear cover adhesive gasket

Step by step

  1. 1

Step 1: Discharge and Power Down

Drain the battery level below 25 percent to minimize the risk of fire or thermal runaway if the cell is damaged during extraction.

Power down the device completely and eject the SIM card tray.

  2. 2

Step 2: Heat the Rear Cover

Apply controlled heat around the perimeter of the back glass using a heat gun set to 75-80 degrees Celsius for approximately two to three minutes.

This softens the waterproof adhesive without damaging the internal Dynamic AMOLED display or camera modules.

  3. 3

Step 3: Create an Opening Seam

Place a suction handle near the lower edge of the back panel and pull upward with steady tension to create a slight gap.

Slide a thin plastic pick into the gap to slice through the adhesive seal, taking care not to insert the pick deeper than 4 millimeters to avoid internal components.

  4. 4

Step 4: Separate the Back Glass

Carefully glide your plastic picks around all four edges while applying gentle heat if the adhesive cools down.

Once the adhesive perimeter is fully separated, lift off the back glass panel and set it aside in a safe, dust-free area.

  5. 5

Step 5: Remove the Midframe and Wireless Charging Coil

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic midframe and integrated wireless charging coil assembly.

Gently unclip the edges of the plastic bracket using a spudger, then lift the assembly away from the phone.

  6. 6

Step 6: Disconnect the Battery Terminal

Pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard using the flat edge of a nylon spudger.

Always disconnect the battery before unseating any other flex cables to eliminate the risk of electrical short-circuits.

  7. 7

Step 7: Unseat Interconnect and Display Cables

Disconnect the main flex cable and display interconnect cables running directly over or adjacent to the battery compartment.

Gently bend the flex cables backward out of the working area to prevent tearing or pinching them during battery removal.

  8. 8

Step 8: Release the Battery Pack

Grasp the clear plastic pull tab on the battery pouch and pull firmly upward at a low, consistent angle.

If the adhesive resists or the tab snaps, apply a few drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol along the sides of the battery pocket, wait two minutes for the glue to soften, and ease the battery out with a flat plastic pry tool.

  9. 9

Step 9: Position the New Battery

Clear any remaining adhesive residue from the midframe cavity using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free wipe.

Peel the protective backing from the new battery adhesive, align the cell carefully within the recess, and firmly press it into place.

  10. 10

Step 10: Reassemble Cables and Shielding

Reconnect the display and motherboard interconnect flex cables until you feel them click securely onto their sockets.

Reattach the battery connector, reinstall the wireless charging coil assembly, and secure all Phillips screws into their original locations.

  11. 11

    Step 11: Test and Reseal

Temporarily power on the phone to confirm it boots properly and accepts a charge.

Once verified, power the phone off, scrape away old adhesive along the chassis rim, apply a fresh pre-cut adhesive gasket, and press the rear glass firmly into place for a tight seal.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, opening the device breaks the factory seal. While applying a fresh pre-cut perimeter adhesive gasket provides splash resistance, it does not guarantee factory-certified IP68 water submersion protection.

After completing the repair, use the phone normally until the charge drops to roughly 5 percent. Then, plug it into an approved charger and allow it to charge uninterrupted to 100 percent, leaving it connected for an extra hour to complete battery management calibration.

Stop prying immediately. Bending a lithium-ion cell can rupture internal separators and cause combustion; apply high-purity isopropyl alcohol beneath the pack to loosen the adhesive rather than using mechanical force.

Check that the battery connector is fully seated on the board socket and ensure the main interconnect ribbon is properly latched. If the phone still fails to power on, plug it into a wall charger for at least 15 minutes, as replacement batteries often ship in a deeply depleted state.
