Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Housing Replacement
A complete housing replacement is required when the Galaxy S26 FE suffers a bent metal chassis, severe frame dents, stripped screw mounts, or cracked internal mounting points after a hard impact. Because the frame serves as the structural foundation of the device, this job involves a full teardown and migration of nearly every internal component, including the motherboard, sub-board, cameras, and battery. Technicians must proceed methodically to avoid damaging delicate flex cables, the display assembly, or the lithium-ion battery during transfer.
Required Tools
- Heat gun or digital heating pad
- Precision Phillips screwdriver (#00)
- Heavy-duty suction handle
- Thin plastic opening picks and plastic pry cards
- ESD-safe nylon spudger
- Curved precision tweezers
- High-purity isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher)
- Pre-cut rear glass adhesive gasket
- Battery replacement adhesive strips
Step by step
- 1
Step 1: Power Down and Remove the SIM Tray
Turn off the phone completely.
Insert an ejector pin into the SIM tray hole at the frame edge, remove the tray, and store it safely to prevent board snagging during disassembly.
- 2
Step 2: Heat and Separate the Rear Glass
Set your heating mat or heat gun to 75-80°C and heat the rear perimeter for 3-5 minutes.
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull upward to introduce a small seam, insert a plastic pick, and cut through the factory perimeter adhesive while staying clear of internal sensors.
- 3
Step 3: Remove the Wireless Charging Coil and Top Shield
Extract the Phillips screws securing the wireless charging antenna and upper plastic bracket.
Lift the bracket clear, then immediately disconnect the main battery connector using a non-conductive nylon spudger to cut power to the logic board.
- 4
Step 4: Disconnect Internal Ribbon Cables
Use your spudger to disconnect the main interconnect flex cables, the display ribbon, front camera connector, and antenna leads from the logic board.
Unplug any auxiliary board links with gentle upward pressure.
- 5
Step 5: Extract the Main Motherboard
Remove the mounting screws holding the motherboard inside the chassis.
Carefully lift the board from its upper corner, ensuring no residual cables snag underneath, and place it on an anti-static mat.
- 6
Step 6: Remove the Lower Speaker and Sub-Board
Unscrew the bottom loudspeaker module and pry it out of the chassis.
Disconnect the USB-C daughterboard, remove its retaining screw, and gently lift the board along with the haptic vibration motor.
- 7
Step 7: Dislodge the Battery
Apply several drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol around the battery margins to dissolve the adhesive underneath.
Allow it to soak for two minutes, then insert a wide plastic card under the cell, slowly lifting it out without puncturing or bending the pouch.
- 8
Step 8: Transfer Small Peripherals and Screen
Remove the earpiece speaker, volume/power button flex circuits, and rubber sensor gaskets using fine tweezers.
If your replacement housing does not have a pre-installed screen, heat the front display perimeter to 80°C, slice the display adhesive, and migrate the OLED panel to the new frame with fresh adhesive.
- 9
Step 9: Mount Components into the New Housing
Fit the button flexes, earpiece, vibration motor, sub-board, and mainboard into the new chassis, fastening all mounting screws securely.
Reattach all ribbon interconnects and antenna cables, leaving the battery unplugged until all other components are seated.
- 10
Step 10: Install the Battery and Upper Shields
Apply fresh battery adhesive to the battery tray, press the battery firmly in place, and connect the battery terminal to the motherboard.
Reinstall the wireless charging coil bracket and fasten all upper screws evenly.
- 11
Step 11: Reseal the Rear Glass
Clean any old adhesive residue from the rear panel with isopropyl alcohol.
Apply a new custom-cut adhesive gasket to the housing perimeter, seat the back cover, and apply uniform clamping pressure for 20-30 minutes to ensure a firm seal.

Frequently asked questions
Official service pack frames usually come with the AMOLED panel, side buttons, and vibration motor already pre-bonded at the factory. Third-party or bare frames require you to manually transfer the original screen, which significantly increases repair difficulty and risk.
While using high-grade pre-cut adhesive gaskets will protect the phone against dust and light moisture splashes, factory IP68 submersion ratings cannot be fully guaranteed once the original factory seal has been broken.
Never attempt to bend a deformed lithium-ion battery back into shape, as internal short circuits can cause thermal runaway and fire. If the battery shows signs of creasing, denting, or puncturing, discard it properly and install a brand new replacement.
Reopen the rear panel, disconnect the battery, and inspect every ribbon cable connection. Loose display connectors or misaligned sub-board interconnects are the most frequent causes of power or display failure after a full housing swap.
