Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus Battery Replacement
Replace the battery if your Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus drains rapidly, shuts down unexpectedly under heavy load, or shows physical swelling. This repair requires softening the rear glass adhesive with heat, lifting the back cover, and removing internal shielding brackets to access the battery bay. Work patiently with non-conductive tools to prevent glass breakage and maintain device safety.
Required Tools
- Heat gun or specialized heat pad
- Heavy-duty suction handle
- Thin plastic opening picks
- Phillips #00 screwdriver
- Plastic spudger or nylon probe
- Precision tweezers
- Isopropyl alcohol (90% concentration or higher)
- Pre-cut rear glass replacement adhesive
- Replacement battery adhesive strips
- Replacement Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus battery
Step by step
- 1
Step 1: Discharge and Power Down
Discharge the existing battery below 25% to minimize the risk of thermal runaway if accidentally damaged.
Turn off the device completely and remove the SIM tray from the bottom edge.
- 2
Step 2: Heat the Rear Glass
Place the phone face down on a heat pad set to 80°C (175°F) for 3 to 5 minutes, or carefully warm the outer perimeter of the rear glass with a heat gun in constant motion.
- 3
Step 3: Slice the Perimeter Adhesive
Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge and pull upward to create a slight gap.
Insert a thin plastic pick into the seam, slice around all four edges of the perimeter adhesive, and remove the rear glass cover.
- 4
Step 4: Remove the Bracket Screws
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the upper motherboard shield, NFC and wireless charging coil assembly, and lower speaker bracket.
- 5
Step 5: Disconnect the Wireless Charging Assembly
Release the wireless charging coil connector from the motherboard using a plastic spudger.
Lift and peel the charging pad assembly away from the chassis to expose the motherboard and battery bay.
- 6
Step 6: Disconnect the Battery and Interconnect Cables
Immediately disconnect the battery terminal from the motherboard using a non-conductive spudger to cut all board power.
Disconnect the main display flex cable and daughterboard interconnect cables routed across the battery.
- 7
Step 7: Extract the Degraded Battery
Grasp the battery pull tab to peel the cell out of the chassis well.
If stubborn adhesive resists, apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the battery edges to loosen the bond without prying forcefully.
- 8
Step 8: Clean the Recess
Wipe away any residual adhesive inside the chassis recess with a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
Allow the area to dry completely before inserting fresh adhesive.
- 9
Step 9: Install the New Battery
Place new pre-cut adhesive strips into the bay, align the replacement battery correctly with the connector reach, and press it firmly into position.
- 10
Step 10: Reassemble and Test
Reconnect all display and interconnect cables, connect the battery terminal, and reinstall the wireless charging bracket and screws.
Power on the phone to test charging and system startup before applying the final seal.
- 11
Step 11: Reseal the Back Cover
Scrape old adhesive residue from the frame and rear glass.
Apply new pre-cut perimeter adhesive, align the rear glass precisely over the phone body, and apply firm, even pressure along all edges.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. Charge the device uninterrupted until it reaches 100%, leave it connected to the charger for one additional hour, and then use the phone normally until it drops to roughly 5% before charging it back to full capacity.
Yes. Opening the phone breaks the original factory IP-rated seal. Although fresh replacement adhesive keeps out dust and minor splashes, the phone should no longer be submerged or exposed to heavy moisture.
Stop working immediately, do not inhale the fumes, and move the device to a well-ventilated, fire-safe area such as a concrete surface or metal container until the reaction stops.
Metal tools can easily puncture the soft foil pouch of the lithium-ion cell, triggering an instant internal short circuit, high heat, and potential fire. Use only plastic picks and nylon spudgers.
