Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Battery Replacement

Moderate45–60 min12 steps

This repair is necessary when your Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra suffers from rapid drain, sudden shutdowns under heavy loads, or rear panel lifting caused by a swollen cell. Replacing an aged battery restores factory performance and battery longevity. Expect a process that requires applying controlled heat to separate the rear glass and carefully detaching internal shield brackets.

Required Tools

  • Heat gun or thermal heating pad
  • Heavy-duty suction handle
  • Plastic opening picks
  • Phillips #00 precision screwdriver
  • ESD-safe plastic spudger
  • Precision tweezers
  • Pre-cut rear glass adhesive gasket
  • Replacement Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra battery

Step by step

  1. 1

Step 1: Power Down and Prep the Device

Discharge the battery below 25 percent to minimize thermal runaway risks if the pack is punctured.

Turn the phone completely off and remove the S Pen along with the SIM card tray.

  2. 2

Step 2: Heat the Rear Glass

Warm the perimeter of the back glass using a heat gun set to 80°C (175°F) for two to three minutes to loosen the factory adhesive.

  3. 3

Step 3: Separate the Perimeter Adhesive

Place a suction handle near the lower edge, lift gently to create a seam, and insert a plastic pick.

Slide the pick around the edges while keeping insertion depth shallow near the camera assembly to protect internal flex cables.

  4. 4

Step 4: Remove the Back Glass

Carefully lift the back panel away from the frame and set it aside.

Clean any remaining degraded adhesive residue from the mating surfaces.

  5. 5

Step 5: Remove the Wireless Charging Bracket

Unscrew the Phillips #00 screws holding the top midframe bracket and integrated wireless charging coil.

Lift out the bracket assembly to expose the motherboard connectors.

  6. 6

Step 6: Disconnect the Battery Connector

Pry the battery flex connector straight upward from the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

Avoid metal tools to prevent short circuits on the motherboard.

  7. 7

Step 7: Detach Interconnect Flex Cables

Unseat the main motherboard-to-daughterboard and display interconnect cables running directly over the battery compartment.

Gently bend the cables out of the removal path.

  8. 8

Step 8: Release the Battery Pull Tabs

Lift the plastic release tabs at the edge of the battery pouch.

Pull the tabs steadily at an upward angle to lift the battery free from the chassis without puncturing the cell.

  9. 9

Step 9: Position the New Battery

Peel any protective backing from the replacement battery adhesive, lower the cell into the frame alignment slot, and press gently on the edges to set the bond.

  10. 10

    Step 10: Reconnect Internal Components

Reattach the interconnect ribbon cables, reconnect the battery terminal to the motherboard, and reinstall the wireless charging bracket with its original screws.

  11. 11

Step 11: Perform a Functional Test

Power on the phone temporarily to ensure the display operates and the device accepts a charge, then power it off before final assembly.

  12. 12

Step 12: Reseal the Rear Cover

Apply a fresh pre-cut adhesive seal along the outer perimeter of the frame, place the back glass down evenly, and apply firm, uniform pressure for two minutes to seal the phone.

Frequently asked questions

No, breaking the factory adhesive compromises the original IP68 depth rating. Applying a fresh pre-cut adhesive provides dust and splash resistance, but the device should not be submerged.

Charge the phone continuously to 100 percent and leave it connected to the charger for at least two additional hours. Then use the phone normally until it powers off automatically at zero percent, followed by an uninterrupted charge back to 100 percent.

Stop applying heat immediately and never use sharp or metal tools to pry it. If a battery swells, work slowly using the pull tabs and store the removed cell in an airtight, fire-safe container before taking it to a battery recycling facility.

No, reused adhesive loses its structural grip and creates gaps that allow dust and moisture into the chassis. Always remove old adhesive cleanly and install fresh pre-cut tape.
