Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Charging Port Replacement

Moderate45–60 min12 steps

A failing charging port on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra can cause intermittent charging, failure to establish USB data connections, slow charging warnings, or lower microphone audio issues. Replacing the modular daughterboard restores the USB Type-C connector, primary microphone, and lower antenna connections to factory condition. This repair requires heating the back cover, removing internal shielding, and swapping the sub-board assembly.

Required Tools

  • Heat gun or heating pad
  • Suction handle
  • Plastic opening picks
  • ESD-safe plastic spudger
  • Precision Phillips #00 screwdriver
  • Tweezers
  • SIM card eject tool
  • Isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher)
  • Replacement pre-cut rear adhesive

Step by step

  1. 1

Step 1: Power Down and Eject SIM Tray

Turn off the phone completely and remove the SIM tray using a SIM eject tool.

Never perform internal repairs while the device is powered on.

  2. 2

Step 2: Heat the Back Glass

Place the device on a heating pad set to 75°C to 80°C or apply moderate heat around the perimeter using a heat gun for two to three minutes.

This softens the factory adhesive holding the rear glass panel in place.

  3. 3

Step 3: Slice the Perimeter Adhesive

Attach a suction handle to the lower portion of the rear glass and lift gently to create a small gap.

Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam and carefully glide it along the edges to slice through the adhesive, keeping the pick depth under 5 mm to protect internal components.

  4. 4

Step 4: Remove the Back Glass

Gently lift the back glass panel away from the frame once all perimeter adhesive has been separated.

Set the glass aside in a clean, dust-free area.

  5. 5

Step 5: Remove the Wireless Charging Coil and Upper Shield

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper motherboard shield and integrated wireless charging coil.

Unclip and remove the coil assembly to gain full access to the board connectors.

  6. 6

    Step 6: Disconnect the Battery

Use an ESD-safe plastic spudger to pry the primary battery connector straight up from the motherboard.

Disconnecting power immediately eliminates the risk of short circuits during the remainder of the repair.

  7. 7

Step 7: Remove the Loudspeaker Assembly

Remove the Phillips #00 screws holding the lower speaker module over the charging daughterboard.

Lift the speaker housing out of the chassis and set it aside.

  8. 8

Step 8: Disconnect Interconnect Cables and Antennas

Use your spudger to pry up the main motherboard-to-daughterboard interconnect flex cables and detach any coaxial antenna connectors.

Move the disconnected ribbons gently to the side to clear the workspace.

  9. 9

Step 9: Remove and Replace the Charging Daughterboard

Remove the single securing screw on the daughterboard, then gently lift the faulty board out of the chassis.

Seat the new replacement daughterboard into place, ensuring the USB-C port aligns with the bottom frame gasket, and reinstall the securing screw.

  10. 10

Step 10: Reconnect Cables and Reinstall Speaker

Snap the interconnect flex cables and antenna connectors back onto the daughterboard until you feel a firm click.

Place the loudspeaker assembly back into position and secure it with its Phillips screws.

  11. 11

Step 11: Reconnect Battery and Run Functional Tests

Reconnect the battery flex cable, power on the phone, and plug in a USB-C charger to confirm Super Fast Charging and data transfer work properly.

Test the lower voice microphone using a voice recording app before final assembly.

  12. 12

Step 12: Reseal the Rear Glass

Turn off the phone, clean off any remaining adhesive residue along the frame using isopropyl alcohol, apply a fresh pre-cut adhesive strip, and press the rear glass firmly back onto the frame.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The primary voice microphone and lower antenna terminals are physically built onto the charging daughterboard, so replacing the board fixes faults in those components as well.

Opening the device breaks the factory waterproof seal. Applying fresh pre-cut adhesive provides everyday dust and splash resistance, but the device should no longer be submerged in water.

Ensure no liquid or flux residue is present in the new port. Clean the socket with high-concentration isopropyl alcohol, inspect the pins with a magnifying glass, and allow it to dry completely before retesting.

The USB-C socket is micro-soldered directly to the daughterboard. Replacing the entire sub-board is the standard, reliable repair method that avoids complex hot-air soldering.
